The weather has been miserable here for the past couple of days. A sign to come? Lets hope not. The sun is trying to break through, hopefully giving us a glimpse of something promising. While I did not vote for Obama, I pray he will do what is best for our country, without changing the principles and beliefs it was founded on. The country has spoken. We now will have to wait and see if this "change" will occur.
A good thing has come out of this election in that every person, black or white, male or female, can now aspire to be the leader of the best country in the world. For that I am proud.
If at anytime you get discouraged, pull out a paper bill ($1, $5, $10, etc.), turn it to the back and read underneath The United States of America. That is what we have going for us. THAT can not be taxed, THAT can not be taken from us and given to another. It is ours to hold forever.

Right now, it is cold in DC. The high today will only get to 47. I can't imagine what Winter will be like. Walking home from the gym this morning as I do everyday, my thoughts drifted back to a few days ago, when I was on the same path.
DC has so many squirrels; brown ones, light grey ones, dark grey ones, and even black ones. I have pondered "Do squirrels wake up and think "Damn its cold out here"? I know I do. Just a thought.

Change in weather for me equals sinuses. Lo has been battling a cold for a couple of weeks now, while have been taking precautions. Unfortunately, when the weather is hot-cold-hot- now cold, there is pretty much no hope. I do not feel bad; I just have the “cup to the ear” sickness called sinus pressure. We will get through it. Other than that, life is crazy on Capitol Hill. Everyone is running around for whatever reason. The election has gotten EVERYONE in a tizzy. I haven’t written much about politics because most people are not interested in it. I know my wife is not. She hates it. She supports the Queen.
They are calling this presidential election the most historic one in the history of the United States. While I feel your political decision is just that YOUR decision, I can say I am a McCain supporter. One for many reasons. I do not hate Obama or his supporters, I just feel that he has an “air” about him that I just do not understand. I believe many people are intrigued by him because they do not know anything about him and have an urge to learn more. We do not know much about his past or exactly what his views are for the future, yet we yearn to find out. I just hope what we find out about him is good. Currently, I am reading a book call The Audacity of Deceit by Brad O’Leary.
“What lies beneath Barack Obama's well-polished rhetoric will shock you. Obama touts 'change' but his version is nothing less than a frontal assault on American values and traditions. Obama's goal? Bring America to her knees through a policy of 'managed decline.' On his watch, our great nation will become a second-rate country on a downhill slide. In The Audacity of Deceit, Brad O'Leary takes you deep inside Obama's plans to dismantle the Second Amendment and destroy our economy while putting us in thrall to the United Nations and laying waste to all that millions of Americans hold dear. You’ll learn: How Obama's fatherless childhood mirrors that of Bill Clinton's and fuels his obsession with fame and power at any cost. How his tax plan would raise rates to a Hoover-like 60% and eviscerate America's economy. How the U.S. Treasury will become the United Nations' ATM. Why Obama wants to keep fuel prices high and Americans immobilized. The '0 to 5' initiative designed to transfer child-rearing from parents to the state. Here are the facts about Barack Obama. Barack Obama may be desperately tacking towards the middle in order to attract voters, but as The Audacity of Deceit proves, his real beliefs are not those of the majority of Americans.”
I would recommend the book if you are a McCain or Obama supporter. The one thing I hate about politics is how people are bringing their children into it. I recently watched a video of 1st graders singing their praises to Obama. Regardless of whom the candidate is, these children do not understand politics nor should be walking advertisements. Those parents are sad individuals.
I am also adding a video. If you are on my mailing list, then you have already received this. If not, take a look. It is a 22-minute long sermon at an African-American church in New York City. You will be surprised at the content. Be aware, there is some language that may not be suitable for young children. Here is the link:

21-Day Recap
I have not written in exactly 21 days. I know. I know. Not at my best right now. I will get better. Upon Lo’s arrival from NYC, we set off on another adventure, Knoxville, TN. I rented a car from priceline.com for $12/day. Very cheap. The question would be what we would get for this amount? Well Hertz came through. Lauren and I set off on our journey in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Amenities included both driver and passenger air bags, cd player, XM availability, IPOD hookup, keyless entry, sun roof, power windows, and even a built-in navigation system. Who is cool? This couple. After seven hours of couple’s karaoke, we made it to Knoxville.
Saturday is football time in Tennessee. They should have made that known to the Volunteer football team. A poor showing from them, but none-the-less a fun time. We tailgated at Animal House. Should any of you happen to remember one of the places I called home in Oxford, Oak Grove (behind Billiard’s), then you can picture Animal House. However, Animal House made Oak Grove look like the Hilton. Lauren was disgusted, therefore, staying outside as much as possible. All in all, we had a great time and look forward to another trip to UT.
The following weekend was Ole Miss Weekend. We watched the debate on Friday, then l lost my voice watching the Rebels do the impossible (block an extra-point, stop Tebow from gaining 1 yard, and beating Florida). Go Rebels! Then Monday came around and I realized I was still an Ole Miss fan and in some way they would ruin it. They did. A loss to South Carolina.
That, however, would take back seat to the weekend I was having. The University of Virginia and Charlottesville are two of the most amazing sites east of the Mississippi. Bold statement, but if you ever visit there you will see what I am talking about. Our friend Jackson, invited us down for the weekend and I have to give it to him, he knows how to entertain. We started the weekend by eating at a restaurant on the downtown mall. For those of you who have never been to UVA, the downtown mall is similar to the square in Oxford. A place filled with nightlife, unique shops, and eccentric restaurants. Post dinner, we ventured out to some local hot spots and called it a night, well morning.
Saturday morning, actually mid-day came, and we headed out to King Family Vineyards for a wine tasting. No words can describe this setting. You can see from the pictures below, the beauty of the landscape surrounding this vineyard. After being in bliss for quite some time, we headed back to Charlottesville to get ready for the UVA-Maryland game. The drive back consisted of windows down, breeze flowing through the vehicle, eyes closed (except Jackson who was driving) and listening to the happiest music on repeat. We all were smiling. We were happy.
Back in Charlottesville, we headed to campus and re-lived college for a bit. We traveled to Jackson’s beloved home, the Kappa Sig house, where Lauren and I reminisced on being in college. Oh the joy we had, yet we never fully realized it until now. We walked to the rotunda and through the infamous lawn. Jackson’s girlfriend’s parents were gracious enough to allow us to sit in their box for the game. It felt like home with the McFatters in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, yet miles away. Maryland was no contest to UVA, who easily took the victory. Many might not know my obsession with college bands. At one point in time, I wanted to be in the band and actually was..... (6th) grade. Baseball changed that. However, I love it. There is nothing better than a crisp Saturday night on a college campus and the school band pumping up the crowd. Especially when they play “From Dixie With Love”. Now I may have found my match. Jackson and I sat in amazement for most of the second half listening and talking about the band. After the game, approximately 20 minutes, only two young men were left standing, gazing at the UVA band as they finished their post game rituals. Jackson and I. At one point, we were hoping that after each song, one more would be played. Eventually our luck ran out and the band left the stadium. After a long and exhausting day, we called it a night. Sunday, we ate lunch with a goat named Jimmy Rester and made our way back to D.C. It was a great weekend.

The Best Husband in the Weurllldddd

Well, I am going to start off by saying I am a huge b*tch. The following story will acknowledge this fact.
For the past week I have been begging Wesley to buy me the Sex & the City DVD the day it came out, which was yesterday. Wesley kept telling me we could get it this weekend since we wouldn't have time to watch it anyway. Having accepted (not completely happy about it...), but accepting this fact, I figured I could just get the movie during the weekend.
After going to WT&Y last night for dinner (ie. Wings, Thangs & Yuenglangs... for those of you out of the loop), we got home and Wesley needed to hop in the shower. He asked me if I could get some things together for the next day which included getting the Netflix movie out of the DVD player and putting it in the package to send back. After shrugging it off like I would do it later, Wesley asked again if I would just do it right now and get it over with. Being the huge b*itch that I am, I snap back to him to back off and I'll do it later. I proceed to storm to the DVD player open it up................................ AND THE SEX & THE CITY DVD IS IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally hit the floor out of excitement and look up at Wesley who is giving me the, "I bet you wish you hadn't been such a big bia about it huh" look. Not only did he get me the DVD... but the EXTENDED VERSION with extra dvd interviews!!!!! So exciting - and he even stayed up and watched it with me.
So there. I have the best husband in the weurld. Night night. :)

The Cat is BACK!!
Well, after a long stint away from my computer I am back. I know I have become a sorry excuse for a blogger, but since according to all of yall... Wesley is "soooo funny!" "Wesley is the best blogger!"... "He writes the funniest stuff!!" You know what. I've about had it. About the throw in my towel on being a blogger and leave the blogging to the "funny one" in the relationship. Geeez. Someone love ME the most!!!! Hahaa.... Now that I have gotten that off my chest....
Last week I had the great opportunity to head to the Big Apple and go to Coterie (also known as fashion market) for Cicada!! Mae and I ventured to the City for four days straight and looked at clothes, clothes, and MORE clothes. NOT that I am complaining - yall know I can never get enough of looking at clothes. We even went shopping a couple of days AFTER the show! I had so much fun and love that I already know what's coming for spring (not to mention I've already ordered my whole wardrobe.... don't well Worsch!) I got to see a lot of the designers that design the clothes that I wear all the time. I also saw WHITNEY FROM THE HILLS!!!! I completely freaked out and started having a panic attack. She was SO TALL and SKINNY, but so pretty. It was awesome. I also got to hang out with Jordan, Elizabeth and Anna almost every night! It was so much fun getting to see them and their cute apartments, and getting to hang out in their city!
Friday, like Wesley mentioned in his previous post, we drove to Knoxville for the UT vs Florida game. We laid low at night, but got a great dinner with my parents on Friday night and then spent the day at Davis's house aka Animal House. We also all went to the game, but we know how that ended....... oh well. We still had fun!!!! The weekend was a lot of fun and we were glad we got hang out with my parents, brother, and friends. Gotta love SEC football.
Busy week ahead.... trying to catch up on the loads of work I missed last week. I'm back to my boy now........... until next time.

When the cat's away......
The mouse will do nothing. I have been a bachelor since Sunday and I have to tell you, I do not like it. Back in the day, I thoroughly enjoyed the single life. Not so much anymore. Don't get me wrong, IV tried to patch the hole that was missing. He did a fabulous job, but it just wasn't the same.
My first night as a pseudo single man. I say single, because Webster defines the term as "not accompanied by another or others; solitary". That is what I am, single. Sunday afternoon, after watching Lo head off to the big apple, I managed to get lost in the city looking for the new grocery store. I prevailed by using what I know best here, public transportation. (**As I was typing the word "transportation" the guy on t.v. said the word, weird. ) Monday began another work week. I always shave on Sunday night before the week begins. I decided not to this time and opted to shave Monday morning. It was amazing for me. A close shave without the irritated redness we all know as razor burn.
Monday- work. That actually is about all that happened in my life that day. It is amazing that I have worked at Senator Wicker's office now for 5 weeks. I went to bed early that night. Oh yeah, I picked up my dry cleaning. I get to live in that world now. I kind of like it.
Tuesday- Recently in my work at the Senator's office, I have had the privilege of dealing with issues that hit home (i.e. natural disasters, gas prices, immigration, the economy, etc.). I have learned a lot and will continue to do so. I have particularly dealt with the topic of natural disasters, especially in post-hurricane times. Without getting into detail, it is very interesting.
I walked out of my office yesterday and guess who I saw. Hillary Clinton. I have found how to tell when she is in her office, but I will not reveal that due to this post being on the World Wide Web. Tuesday was definitely my day to see the important people. Bob Corker, a TN Senator, and I have apparently the same schedule because everywhere I went, I saw him. A honorable thing, seeing how most of my time was spent running errands, therefore, I assume he runs his own errands. ha.
If anyone ever needs a tour of our Nation's Capitol, come to me. I can do it with my eyes closed. I am that good. While on an unexpected tour Tuesday, I ran into Ryan Lochte. For those of you who are thinking to your self "How do I know that name?" Let me tell you. He won 5 medals in the Beijing Olympics. Swimming, if you are still wondering. He helped Michael Phelps do his thing. Post work, IV and I went to Wings, Things, and Yuenglings. I have record setting 8 weeks in a row; IV-3. Going strong. Post-adventure, I went to the gym to kill time.
Today- Another day at work, nothing special. I cooked dinner and had a couple of glasses of red wine. Early bed for me because luckily tomorrow is a big day. My girl is coming back. Believe you me I will feel a bit of normalcy once she has returned.
This weekend we are headed out of town. KNOXVILLE, TN. We are going to visit Davis, see Lauren's parents, and watch Tennessee and Florida. Should be an exciting time. Well I am off. I successfully spilled a candle onto the carpet, the bed, the computer, basically everything. Not so much my fault as I didnt actually knock over the candle. But seeing how its between me and the candle and hes not talking, I lose.
Until next time......

We May Not Win Every Game, but We Never Lose a Party..

Greetings everyone. It has been a few days since we last spoke. Much has happened during the past few days. Our new place is in the final stages of having the WoLo touch added to it. Pictures will soon be posted. Below this, you have seen the before images. In the days to come you will be able to view the after shots. A few days ago, we were able to fly to Nashville, have dinner with both sets of parents and drive the rest of our belongings to D.C. Needless to say, it was fast, productive, and memorable. We enjoy every minute we have with the rents!!
Last Saturday, our friends were able to begin a new era of Ole Miss football with Houston Nutt. The Groove tent, from what I heard, was everything is was expected to be and more. Well Lo and I were unable to attend. We were very sad. Very. We decided that if we couldn't make it to the Grove, we would bring the Grove to us. Yesterday, as Hurricane Hannah made its way through D.C., we gathered the things that were a must in the Grove, and headed home to get ready. After showering and getting our clothes together, I settled down in "the Grove" at 323 Maryland. I must stop and point out that Lo asked me if the dress, yes dress, she picked out was "dressy" enough!!! Nothing has changed. Our good friend, who just moved here, "IV", came over and we watched the Ole Miss game.
I will have to say the saying is true. We may not win every game, but we never lose a party. The DC Grove was a huge success. I was very impressed with the football team. When, in recent years, has Ole Miss lost and still scored 28 points?!? Quoting Obama (which is something I never do, because I don't like him) "This is a change we can believe in". PS. That is the first and LAST time I will quote him.
So GO Rebs. This should be an interesting and fun season.
